Lenses
Wide-angle
lens; A
wide angle lens is basically a “far zoomed out” lens; it can capture more of a
scene than what a human eye can focus on. A typical wide-angle lens has a focal
length of 24-33mm. Because of the very wide angle of these types of lenses,
straight lines near the edges of the picture can end up looking slightly
curved. Wide-angle lenses are probably a must have if you are interested in
Landscape photography as these lenses will give you a view you cannot miss.
Standard
Lens Kit;
A standard lens is a lens you would usually get with a camera for a beginner;
they have a standard zoom ranging from 18mm-55mm usually but it all depends on
the branding of your camera kit. You can use these lenses for everyday use
whether its holiday photographs or even just a walk in the park. These lenses
work best when you are a either quite close or a medium distance.
Telephoto/Super
zoom lens; Telephoto
lenses have an average length of over 70mm and are designed to get you close to
a far-away subject as possible. Super zooms are similar to a telephoto lens
except the only difference is that they don’t have a wide range of focal
lengths; a super zoom lens range can be start for example for 55mm-200mm and
they can go up a lot more than that but the only problem is the cost; these
lenses are very expensive.
Macro; Macro lenses are a
specialized lens that work well at photographing things close up for example- a
flower. One of the main factors of a macro lens is how much detail it will pick
up in one single photograph. These types of lenses are best used when
photographing smaller objects such as insects- this lens is almost like a
magnifying glass.
Fish Eye
Lens; A
fish eye lens is just like a wide-angle lens except a curved outcome. These
lenses are good to use when shooting landscapes, architecture, large crowds of
people etc. Using a fish eye lens creates a more artistic different image.
